DB Compentency Building Block Search

I redid my building block competency after getting my quiz returned. I think I was too involved in the subject headings to really think through the synonyms. A step back and help from a thesaurus helped.

I tried searching Academic Search Complete for Library Technology help. Staff needs someone to look at for help. I am debating on having a help desk policy. I used the text only version in order to be able to get the first 4 hits on the screen shot.

S1 was technology or automation or computers 1,752,341 hits
S2 was help or guidance or support 919,609
S3 (technology or automation or computer) and (help or guidance or support)
S4 (technology or automation or computer) and (help or guidance or support) and Library

I still had too many hits. So I decided to limit to the 2004-2008 and to full text. Because it was still so broad (over 1100 hits) I decided to add another search facet and added competenc*.

S5 (technology or automation or computer) and (help or guidance or support) and Library and competenc*

This got me two hits. Neither of which were very helpful. I think I will go back to the drawing board.
